Interior and justice ministers from North and South America and the Caribbean have agreed to set up a region-wide committee to combat terrorism.

They will also create a central data base to share information in the fight against political violence in the western hemisphere.

The agreements came at the end of a two-day conference in Argentina, held under the auspices of the Organisation of American States.
