Iraqi opposition groups meet US envoy

Leaders of Iraqi opposition groups have met an American envoy in London after earlier talks with British government officials.

The opposition leaders, who belong to sixteen separate groups, met the American Assistant Secretary of State, Martin Indyk at the American embassy.

The largest of the opposition groups, the Iraqi National Congress, said beforehand that it hoped Mr Indyk would tell the various groups to unite under its platform.
