Iraq diplomatic reshuffle

The Iraqi President, Saddam Hussein, has ordered a major re-shuffle of his overseas diplomatic personnel.

One of the top ambassadors being replaced is Iraq's United Nations envoy, Nizar Hamdoon.

His successor is his deputy, Saeed al-Mausawi.

It's not known whether Mr Hamdoon ia being given another post.

Iraq has also named a new envoy to the UN in Geneva, Mohammned al-Douri, a legal expert.

He takes over the vacancy left by President Saddam Hussein's half-brother, Barzan Tikriti, who was recalled earlier this year.

The Iraqi Arab league representative, Nabil Nejm, is being replaced by Sultan al-Shawi.
