Indian Christians plan protest day


A coalition of christian groups in India The United Christian Forum for Human Rights has called for a nationwide protest next month, to condemn recent attacks on christians and their institutions.

A leader of the forum, Archbishop Alan de Lastic, said christian schools and colleges would shut down on December the fourth.

A rally at the national parliament was also planned.

The chairman of the National Minorities Commission Tahir Mohammed also expressed concern about recent attacks on christian and muslim communities in the western state of Gujarat.
