Peaceful protests in Indonesia

Indonesian students have returned to the streets of the capital, Jakarta, holding peaceful rallies to press for political reforms.

Several thousand students, in separate groups, marched towards parliament, the attorney general's office and the University of Indonesia campus.

Student leaders held talks with the Attorney-General, Andi Muhammad Ghalib.

The peaceful rallies were in contrast to the political protests earlier this month, when fourteen people were killed.

The National Commission of Human Rights is reported to be launching an investigation into the violence.
