Daughter of the former Chancellor of the Exchequer, Nigel Lawson, Nigella is a journalist, broadcaster and columnist. She entered journalism after a publishing career where she was a Booker prize judge. She worked on the Sunday Times as deputy literary editor and now has a column in the Observer.
Her husband is John Diamond, who is known for a column in The Times where he writes about his battle with throat cancer. They married in Venice in 1992. It was an impulse decision but they managed to get special permission from the Foreign Office. Now they have two children and live in west London. Nigella Lawson has recently published a book, The Pleasures and Principles of Good Food.
