The number of deaths blamed on an early spell of unusually cold weather in Europe has risen to around a hundred and thirty.
Many of the victims have been elderly, homeless, or victims of road accidents caused by ice and snow.
Romania has been worst affected, with the police there reporting twenty-four deaths overnight, bringing the total number in recent days to sixty.
Other deaths have been reported in Italy, France, Bulgaria and Poland.
