The first fifty international monitors who will oversee the ceasefire in the Serbian province of Kosovo are beginning their training before going out into the field.
They're being briefed on the situation there as well as personal safety and landmine awareness.
Up to two-thousand monitors working for the Orgnisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe will check that Serbian and ethnic Albanian forces are observing the terms of the ceasefire.
They will not carry weapons, which has given rise to fears about their safety.
The BBC correspondent in Pristina says the OSCE is under intense pressure to get the observers out into the field as soon as possible.
