Anthony Joseph was arrested after Jenny Morrison, 51, from Wimbledon, was fatally injured during a pre-arranged visit to the "half-way house" in Balham on Monday. He appeared at South Western Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. Ms Morrison, who was single, and a mother and grandmother, was taken to St Georges Hospital, Tooting, where she was pronounced dead after an attack.
"She was a loving mother and grandmother to my two children." Ms Morrison's death has again brought into question the policy of psychiatric patients being treated in the community.
