Third murder conviction

The jury will consider the verdicts agains three other men on Tuesday

A third man has been found guilty of murdering a nine-year-old girl and her 15-year-old brother in an arson attack on their East Oxford home.

Muhammed Nawaz, 21, of Letchworth, Hertfordshire was convicted of murdering Anum Khan and her brother Majid at their home in August last year.

Earlier on Monday, 19-year-olds Alan Swanton and Thomas Leidl, both from Letchworth, were also found guilty of the killings.

Three other people have also been on trial at Birmingham Crown Court.

Jurers are due to reconvene on Tuesday morning to consider verdicts on Haroon Sharif, 20, of Oxford, 26-year-old Riaz Munshi of Sheffield, and 31-year-old Haq Nawaz of Letchworth. All deny murder.

A murder investigation was launched after forensic tests suggested that petrol had been poured through the letter-box of the Khan family home.
