Iranian editor found guilty of publishing lies

An Iranian court has found the editor of an opposition magazine guilty of insulting the armed forces and publishing lies about a special clerical court.

Iranian television did not say what punishment, if any, was handed down to Ezzatollah Sahabi, editor of the Iran-e-Farda magazine.

It said the jury decided that he desreved leniency and dropped all other charges against him but gave no details.

Mr Sahabi was a minister in the early days of the Islamic revolution.
