Palestinians demonstrate against officials

Palestininan demonstrators in Gaza have protested against what they see as the failure of the Palestinian authorities to secure the release of political prisoners held by Israel.

The demonstrators say such releases were envisaged as part of the Israeli-Palestinian accord signed in Washington last month.

One group of demonstrators tried to force their way into the home of Yasser Arafat's deputy, Mahmud Abbas, but were stopped by Palestinian police.
