British delegation on trade ties with Nepal

A British government trade delegation visiting Nepal says trade and investment between the two countries could be increased only if the problems of political instability and the Maoist insurgency in Nepal are tackled.

The leader of the delegation, Iain Dale, said British firms would be interested in investing in tourism and water resources.

But the insurgency -- which has killed more than three hundred people in three years -- and the frequent change of governments in Nepal had discouraged potential investors.
