Cambodia parties agree government

Cambodia's two rival coalition parties have agreed on a division of cabinet posts following elections, which were held in July.

Under the deal, the Cambodian People's Party lead by Prime Minister Hun Sen -- which narrowly won the elections -- will take control of twelve ministries including finance and foreign affairs.

Prince Norodum Ranariddh's FUNCINPEC party will run eleven, including the justice and information departments.

The Cambodian parties will jointly hold the two key portfolios of interior and defence.

In a statement, Hun Sen said very few remaining issues needed to be solved and the new government would be formed next Monday.
