Vietnamese court jails baby-traffickers

A court in Vietnam has jailed eight people, including a policeman, for involvement in illegally selling babies for adoption overseas.

The ringleader, Ho Thi My Hanh, was given a 12-year sentence, along with the policeman, Nguyen Si Vinh.

He was convicted of taking bribes to cover up evidence against her.

Six other people received prison terms ranging from two to nine years.

They were accused of selling nearly 40 babies to French couples in the late 1990s.
