Robbers guilty of father's fall death
Court graphic
Two men have been convicted of killing a father who fell from a 12th floor window after trying to save his two-year-old daughter from their threats.

Damiean Fielding, 22, from East Dulwich, south London and Gbadgesin Adgenbenle, 22, of Forest Gate, east London were both found guilty of manslaughter and making threats to kill.

Thei Kalibu Daibz died after the fall from his tower block home just seconds after the robbers fled.

The men - who threatened to hurt Mr Daibz's daughter Sarah - asked for money and the keys to his new Audi car.

The men were acting unlawfully at the time so were responsible for their actions leading to the death of Mr Daibz

Sasha Wass, QC, prosecuting

The two men were also convicted together with Janet Ware, 35 of Deptford, south London of conspiracy to rob Mr Daibz on 31 August last year.

The Old Bailey was told by Sasha Wass QC, prosecuting, that Mr Daibz's friend Ahipeaud Honore saw one man with a knife, holding Sarah round the waist.

Mr Honore told the police the two men said: "If you don't give us the car keys, we will kill your daughter."

Mr Daibz replied: "If you don't leave my daughter alone I will jump out of the window."

"The men were acting unlawfully at the time so were responsible for their actions leading to the death of Mr Daibz," Miss Wass said.

Mr Daibz, 29, had tried to pull himself up from the bedroom window ledge - but lost his grip despite his friend's attempts to save him.

Sentencing was adjourned until 6 September.
