Police are still questioning one woman
Three people have been charged with the murder of a 17-year-old girl whose body was found burning in a country lane in Essex.

The body of Debra Carne, 17, from Sible Hedingham, was found in undergrowth by the side of a remote country lane in nearby Castle Hedingham on Monday night.

Three of four people arrested for questioning on Tuesday were charged with murder on Thursday afternoon.

They are Kerry Bauer, 19, from St Michael's Road, Braintree, Essex; Stephen Wood, 20, from Parker Way, Halstead, Essex, and a 17-year-old girl from Braintree, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Post-mortem

They were remanded in custody until 9 August by magistrates at Colchester on Thursday afternoon. No application was made for bail.

Nicole Hollinshead, 18, from Ravens Avenue, Halstead, has been charged with assisting an offender, said a police spokeswoman.

She is due to appear before magistrates in Colchester on Friday.

A post-mortem examination showed Miss Carne died as a result of asphyxiation.
