Mugging victim's mother speaks out
The sea wall at Weston-super-Mare
The victim fell from the sea wall on to rocks
The mother of an American soccer player severely injured in a fall following a mugging, has spoken of her distress at the attack.

Carla Good flew from Seattle, Washington, on Wednesday to be at her son's bedside at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.

Ross Good is in a critical condition at the hospital following the attack in Weston-super-Mare on Monday.

The 21-year-old was sitting on a wall in the Somerset town when a couple drew up in a VW Golf or Polo car.

Pale complexion

The pair raced over to him before pulling his rucksack from him, seconds before he fell from the wall on to rocks below.

Mrs Good said: "I am glad to be here with my son and will be keeping in touch with the rest of the family back home.

"Everyone is doing everything they can to help and we have been touched by the kindness and support we have received since we arrived.

"We now need to take every day as it comes."

The attacker was described as white, aged between 20 and 25, with dark hair, and wearing a black baseball cap, black shirt and dark trousers.

The car was driven by a white woman in her mid-20s who had a pale complexion and long straight brown hair.

Ross Good was on a two-week football tour with 20 friends, who were all staying at the Monaco Hotel in the town.
