Couple arrested over child's death
Police tape
The girl died on Wednesday afternoon
A man and a woman have been arrested following the death of a one-year-old baby in Kent.

The girl was discovered with serious injuries by police at an address near Ramsgate on Wednesday.

She was taken to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in nearby Margate where she later died.

An 18-year-old woman, understood to be the girl's mother, and a 22-year-old man, thought to be the mother's partner, are being questioned at Margate Police Station.

A spokesman for Kent Police said a post-mortem examination showed the girl died of multiple injuries.

Kent police have not yet released the name of the child.
