Meg Munn
Date of birth 24 August 1959 Political profile Meg Munn was elected in 2001 to the safe Labour safe seat of Sheffield Heeley at her first attempt. The daughter of a lord mayor of Sheffield, she has her own background in electoral politics as a former member of Nottingham council. She also has a familiarity with the workings of local and national government as a long serving social worker. Latterly she worked as head of children's services for York Council. Her political interests are centred around social welfare issues - she is a leading member of both the Co-operative Party and the Christian Socialist movement.
