Man dies after pub fight
West Midlands Police headquarters
West Midlands Police are investigating the incident
The death of a father-of-two following a pub fight is being treated as "suspicious" by police.

Kevin Etheridge died in hospital two days after suffering severe head injuries during the brawl in the West Midlands.

Mr Etheridge was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham after the fight outside the Crown and Cushion pub in West Bromwich on Sunday.

West Midlands Police said the 42-year-old surveyor had been drinking in the pub, in Lloyd Street, before he became involved in a disagreement with a fellow customer.

'Police bail'

The row then spilled out into the car park outside at around 2000 BST, close to the main entrance to Dartmouth Park, where a funfair and Asian Games event were being held.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information to come forward.

A police spokeswoman said: "A 31-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries."

A post-mortem examination was due to be carried out on Mr Etheridge's body.
