Hypersonic jet launch raises hopes |
| Researchers hope the hypersonic engine, known as a Scramjet, could transform air travel, drastically reducing the duration of long-haul flights. It is believed the new jet could one day cut the journey from London to Sydney from more than 20 hours to just two. Fergus Walsh reports. |
