Mallett: 'We won't lose'

Matt Dawson clears for England during the summer's disastrous tour

South African coach Nick Mallett pulled no punches as he arrived in London to start the world champions' month-long tour of the British Isles.

The all-conquering Springboks are on the look-out for records with four Tests to play on the tour.

"We've not lost for 18 matches and we don't intend to start now," Mallett said.

"I don't want to sound arrogant but I expect us to beat Wales, Scotland, Ireland and England."

The South Africans begin their tour in Glasgow next Tuesday but Mallett already has his sights trained on their first major test - Wales at Wembley on November 14.

The Springboks hammered Wales by a record 96-13 in June but Mallett says he is expecting a much more difficult game.

"We turned them over in the summer but I expect this match to be very different," he said.

"They were missing many of their best players and they've now got one of the world's best coaches in Graham Henry.

However, it is the chance to renew battles with England that really excites the man who guided South Africa to Tri-Nations glory this season.

Last year the Springboks outplayed Clive Woodward's men recording a 29-11 victory at Twickenham while a weakened England went down 18-0 in Cape Town during the disastrous summer tour.

"It would be silly to say England are not the toughest team we face," Mallett said.

"They will want to wipe the slate clean after the summer and I'm expecting them back to the form they were in when they held the All Blacks last year.

"However, I'm still confident we can win all eight matches and maintain our winning streak."
