In an interview with the BBC, Mr. Joan Garcés, one of the Spanish lawyers who brought the case against General Pinochet, said it is now up to the British authorities to obey international law and to extradite the former president.

Meanwhile Alberto Espina, president of the National Renewal Party of Chile said that Spain has created a bad precedent by allowing the request for General Pinochet´s extradition to go ahead.
