Iranian minister on Saudi visit

The Foreign Minister of Iran, Kamal Kharazi, has gone to Saudi Arabia on a two-day official visit for talks with King Fahd and other Saudi leaders.

Mr Kharazi will discuss ways of developing economic cooperation and the situation in Afghanistan.

Correspondents say relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran have improved considerably since the election last year of President Khatami, who is generally regarded as a moderate.
