Businessmen visit Afghanistan

An international group of businessmen has been travelling around Afghanistan over the past few days to explore ways of rebuilding the basic infrastructure after the destruction of twenty years of civil war.

The businessmen -- from Britain, France, Germany, the United States, South Africa and Pakistan -- include financiers and specialists in telecommunications, oil and gas, mining and road building.

One of their main aims has been to make final plans for a new telecommunications network, as the existing one is almost completely destroyed.
