At today's hearing a lawyer representing the Spanish authorities Christopher Greenwood said the concept of crimes against humanity was well established in international law at the time of the coup and should be used to strip General Pinochet of immunity against prosecution.

The hearing has been extended until Monday when counsel for General Pinochet will give evidence.
