The organizers of the Tour de France cycle race have announced stringent new anti-drugs measures to prevent any repetition of the doping scandal that hitthis year's race.
These require all entrants to sign a new code of conduct and stipulate that any team or individual suspected of using performance-enhancing drugs will be suspended from the Tour.
One-third of the teams competing in this year's race either withdrew or were expelled after allegations of widespread drug use.
