Starman seeks songwriters

David Bowie - Let's write the rest together

Budding songwriters are being offered the chance of a lifetime - to co-write a track with rock chameleon David Bowie.

Bowie, who was the first pop star to set himself up as an Internet Service Provider, is offering the opportunity via his recently-launched Website.

The music and chorus for the song entitled What's Really Happening have already been penned by Bowie, leaving would-be songwriters to submit three verses to complete the track.

The winning name will be in extremely good company alongside other Bowie writing partners such as John Lennon, Iggy Pop, Luther Vandross, Brian Eno and Queen.

The former Thin White Duke will himself select the winning entry from a shortlist chosen by the public.

As well as the kudos of writing with Bowie, the winner will also receive a $15,000 (£9,300) publishing contract with international publisher Bug Music and a trip to New York to actually be there when the track is recorded.
