The electoral commission of Kazakhstan has rejected the candidacy of the main opponent of President Nursultan Nazarbayev in the presidential elections, planned for January the tenth.

The election commission says Akezhan Kazhageldin is not fit to be a candidate because of charges that he had taken part in an unregistered meeting.
