US envoy now in Uzbekistan

The American special envoy, Stephen Sestankovich, is in Uzbekistan on the third leg of his visit to Central Asia.

The Russian Itar-Tass news agency asid he was expected to disscuss regional security and the conflict in Afghanistan with President Islam Karimov.

Earlier, while in Kyrgyzstan, Mr Sestankovich expressed concern over reports that Kyrgyzstan had been used for the transit of weapons from Iran to Afghanistan.
