Ian Davidson
Ian Davidson

Date of birth

8 September 1950

Political profile

A traditional left-winger from working class Glasgow, Ian Davidson is a persistently rebellious Labour backbencher whom the party deemed too disloyal to be permitted to stand for the Scottish Parliament under the party's aegis.

Nonetheless, he has secured a place on the influential Public Accounts Committee, and is also secretary of the party's powerful trade union group.

He has a strong interest in international affairs - he chairs the All Party Groups on Bermuda and the Cayman Islands - and is Eurosceptic.
