Italians arrest alleged Algerian militant

Italian police say they have arrested an Algerian living in Bologna on suspicion of providing money and assistance to the outlawed Algerian insurgent organisation, the Armed Islamic Group.

The man, Fettar Rachid, is alleged to be a key link for Islamic militants and police say he knew of plans for the bombing of a market in Algiers at the end of August in which seventeen people died.
