Christ statue destroyed in India
The authorities in the central Indian state of Chattisgarh say they have launched an investigation into the destruction of a statue of Jesus Christ.

Police say the vandalism took place on Saturday night, inside a Roman Catholic church in the tribal area of Ranchi.

Opposition politicians say the attack is part of a conspiracy to fuel communal tension in the state, which is governed by the Hindu BJP.
