Wednesday, November 4, 1998 Published at 15:46 GMT World: Americas Thirteen die in Brazil in violence between gold prospectors and members of indigenous community In Brazil, thirteen people are thought to have died in fighting between gold prospectors and members of an indigenous community on the Tumucamaque reserve in the northern state of Amapa. The Amapa office of the government run NationalIndian foundation FUNAI says ten gold prospectors along with an Indian woman and child were killed in the fight which broke out when the prospectors trespassed within the reserve.
