Kyrgyz Foreign Minister tenders resignation

The Kyrgyz news agency, Kabar, says the foreign minister, Muratbek Imanaliyev, has tendered his resignation over an incident at the begining of October when an Iranian train was intercepted by the authorities in south of the country.

The train was carrying arms believed to be destined for the Afghan anti-Taleban leader Ahmad Shah Masoud.

It has been returned to Iran.

However, the presidential office later told the BBC that it had not received Mr Imanaliyev's resignation.
