Hopes fade for missing teenager
Sea King
Search teams have failed to find the teenager
The coastline search for a missing teenager near Aberdeen has been called off.

Kevin Pennie, 16, was last seen in the early hours of Sunday morning when he was at a party.

Up to 60 people have been involved in the search, including divers, dog handlers, Coastguard officers and an RAF helicopter.

Newtonhill, which is 10 miles south of Aberdeen, is perched on dangerous cliffs and police said they feared the teenager had fallen into the sea.

Kevin Pennie: Last seen at party

Grampian Police's underwater team called off the search on Tuesday and eight officers will now conduct house-to-house inquiries.

Kevin was said to have been with friends at the annual marquee dance held in Newtonhill on Saturday night.

The teenager, who was due to start a new job as a storeman on Monday, was last seen leaving a house party in the village at about midnight.

After he failed to turn up at a friend's house on Sunday to watch the World Cup final, they went looking for him.

They discovered his jacket lying on rocks about 2200 BST and raised the alarm.
