'Dangerous' prisoner still at large
Thomas O'Rourke
People have been warned not to approach O'Rourke
A "dangerous" remand prisoner remains at large two days after he escaped from a London jail during an exercise period.

Scotland Yard said on Tuesday that officers are continuing their search for 26-year-old Thomas O'Rourke who escaped from HMP Brixton in south London.

Police have said O'Rourke is considered dangerous and members of the public have been warned not to approach him.

O'Rourke had been on remand at the prison awaiting trial on charges of robbery and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Tattooed arm

A full search was carried out by prison staff within the prison, and police later searched the surrounding area after he went missing at about 1600 BST on Sunday.

A spokeswoman for Scotland Yard said on Tuesday: "We are looking for him everywhere, we are still actively seeking him.

"We are still advising the public not to approach him."

He is described as white, 5ft 8ins, slim build, with a dark complexion and a tattoo on his right arm.

At the time of his escape he was wearing blue jeans and a grey sweatshirt.

Anyone with information can ring Brixton Police Control on 020 7326 1212 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
