Elvis stays on top
Elvis's last number one was Way Down in 1977
Elvis Presley is spending a third week at number one in the UK singles chart with a remixed version of his track A Little Less Conversation.
The track, remixed by Dutch DJ Junkie XL, is Presley's 18th UK number one and the first since Way Down, which hit the top shortly after his death in 1977. The remix features in an ad for Nike sportswear, starring Brazillian striker Ronaldo, who scored both goals in Sunday's World Cup final win over Germany. Junkie XL - whose real name is Tom Holkenborg - had to change his moniker to JXL for this release because Presley's estate was uncomfortable with the drugs reference in his name.
Scooter's The Logical Song - a cover of the the 1979 Supertramp track - rises back up this week's chart to number two, while Calling's Wherever You Will Go is the highest new entry at number three. Oasis' Stop Crying Your Heart Out - which entered last week's chart at number two - falls to number five. It had been used by the BBC after England were knocked out of the World Cup to Brazil. Liberty X - the group composed of contestants rejected by ITV1's series Popstars - have the third highest new entry, with Just A Little entering at number 10, one place behind Kelly Llorenna's cover of Taylor Dane's 1988 track Tell It To My Heart, which makes its debut at number nine.
Mis-Teeq, whose appearance at Glastonbury surprised many onlookers, fell from seven to 12 with This Is How We Do It, but their album rocketed up 136 places in the album chart to number 10. Festival attention also helped Fatboy Slim, who saw his album Halfway Between The Gutter And The Stars rise from 144 to 12 in the chart. Eminem stays at the top of the album chart with The Eminem Show, with Sophie Ellis Bextor's Read My Lips at number two.
