China sacks two anti-corruption officials

The Chinese media has reported that the parliament had approved a decision to sack two of the country's senior official in charge of investigating corruption.

The two officials, Luo Ji and Huang Lizhi, have been removed as director and deputy director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau of the state prosecutor.

The official news agency said they had been accused of violating discipline.

Correspondents say the government began an investigation in July of thousands of chief prosecutors and heads of anti-corruption bureaux to check on their honesty, self-discipline and ideolgical quality.
