US deports Pakistanis

The United States has begun deporting a large number of Pakistani illegal immigrants detained in American prisons in the aftermath of the September the eleventh attacks.

It has been confirmed that a batch of 131 Pakistanis arrived in Islamabad on a special flight from the US on Thursday night.

Many more are expected to follow.

The detainees were arrested mainly for minor visa violations, such as staying in the United States too long.

Correspondents say a number of the deportees allege they were mistreated during their nine months in jail.

The deportees also complain that they were never produced before a court.
