Three questioned over burning body

Detectives are questioning three people in connection with the murder of a man whose burning body was found on a country track.

The man's body was found at West Hanningfield, near Chelmsford, Essex, on Wednesday.

Post mortem tests showed that he died from asphyxiation.

A police spokesman said a man and a woman from the Chelmsford area had been arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday.

Later officers arrested another man from the Chelmsford area, Essex police said.

The dead man has so far not been identified.

Police said the dead man was aged under 40, about 5ft 8ins tall and had a surgical bandage and dressing on his upper right forearm.

His body was found on fire at the entrance to the dirt track, which is close to the A12, at 2300 BST on Wednesday.
