Teacher jailed over pupil assault
Court graphic
A married teacher who indecently assaulted a 14-year-old female pupil during a school trip has been jailed.

Father-of-two Neil Sulley, 37, of St Martin's Road, Gledrid near Oswestry in Shropshire, denied the charges.

Caernarfon Crown Court heard on Friday Sulley had first struck up an e-mail relationship with the girl after finding out she had an interest in internet chat rooms.

The jury was told Sulley had communicated with the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, in an inappropriate and over-familiar manner.

Career over

Welsh language teacher Sulley denied indecently assaulting the girl three times on the same day.

He was found guilty and sentenced to 15 months in jail.

His name will be on the sex offenders' register for 10 years.

Sulley's defence solicitor told the court his marriage was in tatters and his career was over as a result of the charges.
