Geraint Davies

Date of birth

3 May 1960

Political profile

Geraint Davies won Croydon Central for Labour in 1997, at his third attempt in a Croydon seat.

He was helped by a high local profile as leader of the council.

He has an unusual background for a Labour MP, having left a career as a senior marketing executive to set up his own business providing sustainable tourism to Crete, an experience he likes to make much of in the Commons.

His major political interest is in housing and homelessness, another legacy of his council days when he chaired the Housing Committee.
