Arrest made in golf course killing
Hazel Prager
Ms Prager was attacked on the way to her parents
Police have arrested a man in connection with the death of a 46-year-old teacher.

Doraj Miah, 19, was arrested by officers at 0730 BST on Thursday and taken to a north London police station.

Hazel Prager was found naked with her throat slashed near a golf course in Hainault, Essex on Tuesday.

Her family have released a statement thanking the police and public for their support.

Knife found

Mr Miah was arrested in a street in Barkingside.

A police spokesman said: "We can confirm that he is the man we identified yesterday as someone we want to interview in connection with the murder."

Investigations continue at the scene where a knife has been found.

A post-mortem is being carried out to establish how Ms Prager, from Camden, north London, died.

She was left naked apart from her socks and a piece of clothing wrapped around her neck.

Police confirmed that she had been indecently assaulted.

Her body was discovered at 1315 BST on Tuesday by a boy riding his bike along a path which crosses Aldborough Hatch farm close to Fairlop Waters golf course.

'Lovely Hazel'

Ms Prager, who was a visual arts teacher with Kensington and Chelsea Council, is believed to have been returning from a nearby swimming pool to her parents' home when she was attacked.

She was found in bushes close to the footpath and police believe she was killed near to where she was discovered.

Her family is being comforted at their Hainault home and have issued a statement.

It read: "We are naturally devastated at the loss of our lovely Hazel and we wish to thank all the people who have shown us kindness.

"We want to particularly thank the police for their understanding and support and we would appreciate it if the media would continue to show the restraint they have shown so far."
