The American delegation has already had talks with President Laurent Kabila, as well as with the leaders of other countries involved in the crisis.

The Americans will see the Rwandan president, Pasteur Bizimungo, and the country's vice-president and Defence Minister, Paul Kagame.

After that, the delegation will go on to Uganda to discuss the crisis with President Museveni.
