Guivarc'h set for Scotland

Stephane Guivarc'h scores for Newcastle against Liverpool

Newcastle striker Stephane Guivarc'h has said he is ready to sign for Scottish club Glasgow Rangers.

The French world Cup star said: "I have given my agreement to Rangers."

Rangers are reported to have offered £3m for Guivarc'h, who joined Newcastle in the summer but has been unable to win a first-team place under coach Ruud Gullit, and a salary in the region of £20,000 a week could tempt him into Scottish football.

"It is up to the player and we expect to hear from him but this is the last time we will go down this road," said club chairman David Murray.
