Reports from Guinea say five men, including President Lansana Conte, will compete in December's presidential elections.

They include the two main opposition leaders, Alpha Conde and Mamadou Ba.The announcement came after the Supreme Court approved the candidacies.

The Court refused to validate the proposed candidates of the Social Democratic Party and the Liberal Party.

Official campaigning will begin on the fourteenth of November.
