The storm has caused havoc, destroying roads and bridges like this one on the Pan American Highway near Chinandega in Nicaragua.
People have been evacuated from the worst affected areas such as the town of Las Mesitas in El Salvador.
Flood victims are being treated in hospitals in Nicaragua and El Salvador.
Roads across the region have been flooded.
Some aid, such as clothes donated to the Red Cross in San Salvador, has started to arrive. |
