Police identify woman's body
Glen Head near Glencolmcille, County Donegal
Police in County Donegal have identified a body found on Tuesday as that of missing German backpacker Constancze Czerwinske.
Her family travelled to Donegal on Wednesday. They had been contacted by police who identified her body after it was found washed up on rocks near Glencolmcille. The body was discovered shortly after 1400 BST on rocks at Glen Head in south west Donegal. Garda Superintendent Terri Maginn said the discovery was made at the base of a cliff near Glencolmcille. "The body was found about 700 yards from where she went missing and it appears to have been washed in from the sea," she said. Sea and air search "It was spotted by some of the searchers on the cliff head from where they sighted an object."
The 22-year-old was last seen alive when she left a hostel in Glencolmcille to walk along local cliffs on 18 June. When she failed to return, a major land, sea and air search was launched. Fifteen search teams, made up of a total of 60 police and local residents, took part in the operation.
